How does the 30-day swap and return work?

If “nu” is not for you – no worries. You can return or exchange your phone within 30 days of purchase. We’ll even pay for the return shipping!

Here are our conditions for returns:

The phone must be returned in its original packaging, with all original accessories, and must be in its original, undamaged condition.
The phone can have no signs of wear from its original condition (this includes scratches and other damage to the screen, housing, and hardware).

What is the 12-month warranty?

Every nucertified phone comes with our 12-month phone warranty. So if your phone fails to meet our nucertified standards during that period (unless the failure is due to damage caused by you, another person or by accident), we’ll arrange for the phone to be repaired or replaced (at our election) at no additional cost. This is in addition to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. The terms and information about our 12-month phone warranty can be found in our Mobile Devices Terms.

Can I keep my current number?

Of course! The process to transfer your existing number to nu mobile is easy and when you join, you'll be given the choice to keep your existing number when activating your SIM. The process is known as ‘porting’. Here's how to do it:

Log in to your account.
Verify your nu SIM by entering the SIM serial number located on the SIM card we’ve sent you.
Enter the phone number you want to port and the date of birth of the account holder for that phone number.
If you are a post-paid customer, you will also need the account reference number (ARN) linked to that phone number (which you can find on a bill from your current mobile service provider). If you are a pre-paid customer, please do not fill out the ARN section.
Click the transfer button and your number should in most cases be transferred to your nu SIM within an hour, but it could take up to 48 hours. You can continue using your old service until the porting is completed. You will receive a notification from us as soon as the port is complete.
Once you have received the notification saying that your numobile SIM is now active, please restart your phone for the activation to complete.

If your number hasn’t ported within 48 hours, or you have received a notification that something has gone wrong, please get in touch with our aussie-based support team.

How does data banking work?

Your unused data is yours to keep in your databank for as long as you stay on your current plan or change to a bigger one. Every month, all of your unused monthly or add-on data is added to your data bank with a maximum of 200GB at any time.

Please note that if you change your plan to a smaller one, your data bank will reset, and you will lose any of the data you had banked so far. From that point on, you can start banking any unused data again.
