How does the 30-day swap and return work?

If “nu” is not for you – no worries. You can return or exchange your phone within 30 days of purchase. We’ll even pay for the return shipping!  ​

Here are our conditions for returns:​

  • The phone must be returned in its original packaging, with all original accessories, and must be in its original, undamaged condition. ​
  • The phone can have no signs of wear from its original condition (this includes scratches and other damage to the screen, housing, and hardware). ​

What if I received a damaged or faulty phone?

If you believe you received a damaged or faulty phone, please get in touch with us within 3 days of receiving your phone (this does not affect your rights under Australian Consumer Law). Find out what to do here.

What if I want to claim my phone under warranty?  

Every nucertified phone comes with our 12-month device warranty. So, if your phone fails (unless the failure is due to damage caused by you, another person, or by accident) to meet our nucertified standards during that period we’ll arrange for the phone to be repaired or replaced (at our election) at no additional cost. This is in addition to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. ​

What is the 12-month warranty?

Every nucertified phone comes with our 12-month Device Warranty. So if your phone fails (unless the failure is due to damage caused by you, another person or by accident) to meet our nucertified standards during that period, we’ll arrange for the phone to be repaired or replaced (at our election) at no additional cost. The terms and information about our 12-month device warranty can be found in our Mobile Devices Terms.​

Our nucertified phones come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You're entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You're also entitled to have your phone repaired or replaced if your phone fails to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.  More information can be found in our Mobile Device Terms including how to make a claim and liability for shipping costs.  ​

Can I keep my current number?

You sure can, the process is known as ‘porting’. Here's how to do it:

  1. Log in to your account.
  2. Verify your nu SIM by entering the SIM serial number located on the SIM card we’ve sent you.
  3. Enter the phone number you want to port and the date of birth of the account holder for that phone number. 
  4. If you are a post-paid customer, you will also need the account reference number (ARN) linked to that phone number (which you can find on a bill from your current mobile service provider). If you are a pre-paid customer, please do not fill out the ARN section.
  5. Click the transfer button and your number should in most cases be transferred to your nu SIM within an hour, but it could take up to 48 hours. You can continue using your old service until the porting is completed. You will receive a notification from us as soon as the port is complete.
  6. Once you have received the notification saying that your numobile SIM is now active, please restart your phone for the activation to complete.

If your number hasn’t ported within 48 hours, or you have received a notification that something has gone wrong, please get in touch with our customer service team.

If you at any point decide to leave numobile, you can also port out. So, you can take your own number or the number you received from us over to your new provider.

How does data banking work?

Your unused data is yours to keep in your databank for as long as you stay on your current plan or change to a bigger one. Every month, all of your unused monthly or add-on data is added to your data bank with a maximum of 200GB at any time.

Please note that if you change your plan to a smaller one, your data bank will reset, and you will lose any of the data you had banked so far. From that point on, you can start banking any unused data again.
